Coach’s Corner: Tattnall Trojans head into 2016 with new coach

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Tattnall Trojans are coming into 2016 with a new look, as Chance Jones takes over for former coach Clint Morgan.

Last season, Jones was an assistant coach with Prince Avenue Christian in Athens, and worked with current Stratford coach Mark Farriba when he was there.

Jones is the son of former Westfield Hornets head coach Ronnie Jones, who retired from that post at the conclusion of 2015.

The Trojans will play in Region 7-A, alongside FPD, Stratford, Mount de Sales, Twiggs County, and Wilkinson County.

OFFENSE:

Coach Jones says in his first season, he will have his team run the ball quite often.

That should benefit returning running back Ahmad Barron.

DEFENSE:

The Trojans will be returning eight starters for 2016.

Returning players: Christian Rogers, Sean Brown, and Calvin Slaughter

FIRST GAME: August 26th at home versus Wilcox County.
