Coach’s Corner: James Hagins begins his 21st season at Wilkinson County

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Wilkinson County Warriors finished 6-5 in 2015, which was their first winning season since 2012.

In that 2012 season, the Warriors finished with an 8-4 record.

Their 6-4  regular season mark was good enough to reach the playoffs, where they lost in the first round to Irwin County in Ocilla, Georgia by a score of 30-13.

Region 7-A includes FPD, Mount de Sales, Stratford, Tattnall, and Twiggs County.

Coach James Hagins is a veteran of Middle Georgia football, and will begin his 21st season as head coach of the Warriors.


The Warriors will have six starters returning from last season.

The offense will be cropped up by the return of two juniors, third year starters QB Tyler Grable and WR Brandon Mays.

They will also be returning senior running back Akeem Jackson.


Six starters will be back on defense for 2016, including the entire secondary.

FIRST GAME: August 26th, versus the Baldwin Braves, and will play their first four games at home.
