Coach’s Corner: Baldwin Braves looking to better last year’s 4-6 mark

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Baldwin Braves found themselves taking a step backward last year, slipping from 7-5 in 2014 to 4-6 in 2015.

The Braves were unable to recover from a rough five game losing streak, all of it in region play.

The school has moved from Region 2 to Region 3-4A, which includes Burke County, Cross Creek, Hephzibah, Richmond Academy, and Thomson.

This is Lee Hannah’s third season as head coach, and has a combined record of 11-11.

OFFENSE:

The Braves struggled on offense, and only averaged 14.4 points-per-game. They were held to less than 10 points four times.

They will be returning starting quarterback Torez Hicks, RB Ty Christian Henry, and linemen Jacolbey Davis and Willie Williams.

DEFENSE:

The Braves will be helped by returning nine starters on defense, and all front seven.

Last year, the Braves allowed 22.2 points-per-game.

Ty Christian Henry, Malik Clark, and Willie Williams will all be starters on the defensive line.

FIRST GAME: August 19th versus Hancock Central.
