Clouds return Wednesday afternoon; rain possible Wednesday night

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Clouds will return Wednesday afternoon ahead of a cold front that will bring rain Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

It will be a clear night around Middle Georgia with temperatures expected to reach their coolest point so far this November. Lows will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s with wind expected out of the east-northeast at 5-10 mph. Gusts could push upwards of 15 mph.

Sunny skies will begin Wednesday for the majority of Middle Georgia. It will be a breezy day with wind out of the east expected at 7-15 mph, gusting upwards of 25 mph. Highs will be a bit cooler than Tuesday as they only reach the mid 60s for most of the region. Rain is not expected during the day, however high clouds will begin to move in from the west during the afternoon.

Overnight skies will be overcast with some scattered showers likely, especially after midnight. Wind will flow from the east-southeast at 7-15 mph with gusts reaching up to 20 mph. Low temperatures will be in the mid to upper 50s around the region. Get the rain gear ready tomorrow night as thunderstorms will be possible through the first half of Thursday.

The area of interest to the south of Cuba/east of the Yucatan now has 90% odds to develop into a depression in the next 7 days and 60% odds within the next 48 hours. The Gulf coast of the US should monitor development in the near future and prepare for updates as they come.
