Clouds mostly stick around Saturday; more sunshine Sunday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Lingering cloud cover from the slow moving system Friday is expected Saturday before more sunshine returns for the back half of the weekend.

The rain has finally cleared out of Middle Georgia although a stray shower or two will remain possible this evening/overnight. Some clouds will break up through the sunset hours leaving partly cloudy conditions overnight. It will be a bit cooler than the past two nights however it will still be mild by late February standards with lows in the low to mid 50s. The wind will be light from the northeast around 5 mph.

Tomorrow

Cloud cover will fill back in ahead of the sunrise tomorrow and should remain pretty stubborn through at least lunchtime. Some clearing is expected in the mid to late afternoon, however the southeastern counties will likely still be mostly cloudy as the sun goes down. Those hoping to see the six planets on the horizon shortly after the sunset tomorrow may struggle as a result. The wind will be light from the north-northeast with temperatures peaking around 70 degrees.

Overnight will be mostly clear as the wind becomes more northwesterly while remaining calm. Low temperatures will be near average in the low to mid 40s. Low level clouds or some fog may fill in ahead of the sunrise on Sunday.

Mostly sunny skies are likely after clouds from the early morning break up ahead of lunchtime. Temperatures will be rather warm with highs expected in the mid to upper 70s in the afternoon. The wind will remain light from the northwest. Mostly sunny skies are likely again on Monday before clouds return overnight Monday into Tuesday. Conditions will stay above average throughout next week and pollen levels will climb following the warmth and sun after the rain to end this week.
