MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – As the calendar flips from September to October the humidity will return ahead of high rain odds this weekend.

This Evening

It’s been another sunny and hot day around Middle Georgia as temperatures largely peaked in the lower 90s. Any clouds from the afternoon should clear heading into the overnight hours. The wind will be light out of the east-southeast around 5 mph through the overnight hours. Some fog will be possible as Thursday begins with low temperatures likely in the low to mid 60s.

Tomorrow

Thursday will be the first opportunity for any rain this week as a few isolated showers or perhaps a storm will be possible in the afternoon and evening. Overall expect a partly sunny day with temperatures peaking in the upper 80s and lower 90s once again. The wind will be light out of the southeast at 5-10 mph.

A handful of clouds will stick around overnight as conditions continue to warm. Lows should be in the mid to upper 60s around the region as the wind remains light out of the southeast. More fog will also be possible heading into the sunrise hours on Friday.

Friday and Beyond

A lot more cloud cover is likely for the final day of the work week with isolated showers and storms becoming possible in the afternoon. Temperatures should peak in the mid to upper 80s around the region as the wind flows from the south-southeast around 5 mph. The odds for storms will increase further in the late evening and overnight hours as a wet pattern takes over this weekend with the remnants of Hurricane Polo continuing to move east. Expect a wet and cloudy start to the next week before sunshine returns with cooler temperatures by midweek.
