Church members cook free food for first responders

COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Church members from Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Cary, Georgia cooked food for first responders in Cochran.

They brought their “Holy Smoke” grill and prepared hot dogs, hamburgers, beans, coleslaw and homemade pound cake. They fed more than 50 fire fighters and police officers for free.

Church member Kevin Boston said, “We go out anytime we get a chance with our Holy Smoke grill, and we just try to provide a meal for free.”

And that’s exactly what they did. All of the leftover food was donated to Promise of Hope drug rehab facility.

They try to provide free food with their “Holy Smoke grill about five times a year.
