Christmas tree shoppers keep Thanksgiving tradition at Roberts Tree Farm

BYRON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – For some families selecting a Christmas tree is a Thanksgiving Day tradition. But, choosing the right tree may not be as simple as it sounds.
   Several families were at Roberts Christmas Tree Farm, Thursday, hoping to find their perfect holiday addition. The tree farm is located 9247 Peach Parkway on Highway 49 in Byron,
    One shopper, Dale Dutcher used a scientific approach. he brought his trusty tape measure to make sure he got the right size tree.
   The owner of Roberts Christmas Tree farm, Eddie Roberts warn people to keep their trees watered but if they run dry he has a suggestion.
    “Re-cut the bottom of the tree, get rid of the hard sap and then it will start taking water all over again,” says Roberts.
   The tree farmer says their best seller are the Leyland Cypress and the Carolina Sapphire trees.
