Child dies after being hit by car

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says 4-year-old Josiah Hawkins got into a Chevrolet S10 in the driveway of his home on North Beddingfield Drive in Macon and knocked it out of park.

The car rolled down the driveway, and he jumped out.

The truck ran him over.

He went to Medical Center, Navicent Health by ambulance, but he died.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A child has died after being run over by a truck.  It happened around 7:45 Monday night on North Beddingfield Drive.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones tells 41NBC, it’s unclear whether four-year-old Josiah Hawkins jumped out of the truck or was pushed out.


MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A child has been hit by a car. According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, it happened Monday night on North Beddingfield Drive.

The child was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.

No word on if the driver will be charged.
