Cherry Blossom Festival announces schedule changes for this weekend due to weather

The Cherry Blossom Festival announced updates to its events this weekend due to the weather forecast for Friday and Saturday.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Cherry Blossom Festival announced updates to its events this weekend due to the weather forecast for Friday and Saturday.

  • Founders Day is being moved from Friday, March 22 to Thursday, March 21 at noon in Third Street Park. If there is a change to Friday at Third Street Park, the festival says it will share via social media, its app and with local media.
  • Sunday’s hours at Food Truck Frenzy and Carolyn Crayton Park are being extended. On Sunday, March 24, Food Truck Frenzy will now be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in downtown Macon on Third and Cherry Streets instead of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Carolyn Crayton Park will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. instead of 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the Festival Finale featuring fireworks, ERNEST, tethered hot air balloon rides (weather permitting), vendors, rides and more, instead of 12 p.m.
