MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Former Jones County athletic director and Northside head football coach Chad Alligood announced his retirement from high school athletics in a social media post on Thursday.

Alligood’s username on ‘X’ @chad_alligood, posted around 5 p.m. Thursday, “I appreciate all of the calls, texts, and messages the last few weeks. I appreciate all the job opportunities from some great coaches! But after 30 years in the business I have decided to retire at the end of the school year! God has a plan and I am trusting him!”

Alligood was named Jones County’s athletic director in December 2022 after a three-year stint as Northside’s head football coach, where he compiled a 21-15 record from 2020 to 2022.

Earlier this month, he confirmed his resignation from his position as Jones County’s athletic director.
