Centerville to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with fireworks, live music

CENTERVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The City of Centerville has announced the entertainment lineup and activities for its 2026 Independence Day Celebration, which will honor America’s 250th birthday.
The event is scheduled for Friday, July 3, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Center Park.
According to the city, the celebration will feature live music, family activities, food vendors and a fireworks extravaganza designed to commemorate the nation’s semi-quincentennial.
Atlanta-based band Cashmere will open the evening’s entertainment from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. National headliner DEPARTURE, a Journey tribute band, will take the stage from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The city said the fireworks show will begin immediately following the concert.
Family-friendly activities scheduled throughout the day include face painting and a balloon artist.
Food and beverage vendors include Chick-fil-A, Jail Creek Winery, Peach Cobbler Factory, Pam’s Cakes, Pinky’s, Salsa’s, Scott Boys BBQ, Shiver Shack Concessions, Soul2Soul and Taste at the Burrough.
The city is also introducing a Red, White and Blue Vehicle Decoration Contest. Participants will decorate vehicle trunks or truck beds in patriotic themes, with judging scheduled from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place.
Those interested in participating must register with the city’s Special Events and Marketing Coordinator by June 19.
The event is sponsored by Houston County, Robins Federal Credit Union and Colony Bank.
The Independence Day Celebration will be held at Center Park, located at 103 E. Church St. in Centerville.
