Centerville police still searching for suspect of convenience store shooting
Officers say they’ve worked their resources and now they need the public’s help.
“We’ve spent a couple of nights walking in the community over there talking to them, and the community affectionately talked about Mr. “Roy,” Captain Roger Hayes with the Centerville Police Department said.
There’s still so many questions left unanswered.
Who shot the man, Centerville residents know as “Roy” Patel.
Back in February, a masked gunmen with a red bandana on his face, came inside a Pure Convenience Store on the corner of Houston Lake Boulevard and Collins Avenue.
The suspect demanded money, and Patel gave him everything he had…
Despite the exchange, the masked man shot Patel in the face, afterwards running out of the store.
“He’s had several plastic surgeries to repair damage that was caused to the jaw line and what not,” Detective Sergeant Phillip Pritchett, the lead investigator on the case, said.
After several months, officers say they still don’t know who shot one of the store clerks here at the Pure gas station. They say they have very little clues to go with and they need the public’s help to catch the suspect.
“Sometimes people think that information is insignificant or very small. We can certainly assure you that that information will be passed on to investigators,” Warren Selby, the chairman of Macon Regional Crimestoppers said.
“There’s one or two pieces that they need to help make this arrest and certainly help the family as far as solving a crime,” he said.
Officers say shootings aren’t common the city, and they’re taking the incident seriously.
They describe the suspect as anywhere between 5’5″ and 5’8″ last seen wearing and a red bandana and all black.
They’re not ruling anything out, saying the man could be from another area outside of Centerville.
Officers say they want justice, and to give “Roy’s” family answers.
Officers say Patel is at home recovering, his mouth is wired shut.
