Be cautious when buying hemp products

SOPERTON, Georgia (41NBC/ WMGT) – The oil from hemp, known as CBD, and the products are sold in Macon.

Doctors and hemp farmers say there are medical benefits from CBD without giving users the “high” feeling.

Local hemp farmer Phil Jennings IV says be cautious about where you get your hemp products, because the hemp label may be deceiving.

“Can be simply just the juice squeezed out. It could be nothing more than chlorophyll from the plant squeezed out, but doesn’t contain any CBD so if it says hemp oil it doesn’t necessarily mean it has any benefit whatsoever,” Jennings said.

He says reliable CBD products most likely come from a CBD store, not a gas station or grocery store.
