Calmer weather conditions continue into October

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Above average temperatures but calm winds will stick with Middle Georgia as the calendar flips.
This Evening
A partly cloudy afternoon will give way to a mostly cloudy and muggy night around the region. A stray shower remains possible through the evening and tonight, however most of the region won’t see any rain. Some patchy fog will be possible after midnight as well. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s with a light wind expected out of the northwest.
Tomorrow
It will be a mostly cloudy start around Middle Georgia with a bit more sun expected over the back half of the day. A few showers will be possible, however most of the region should stay dry. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s around the region as the wind stays out of the northwest at around 5 mph.
Overnight skies should be more clear than Monday night, resulting in temperatures dropping more into the mid 60s. Wind will be out of the north at around 5 mph.
The Tropics
Another area is being monitored in the Gulf of Mexico for potential development. It currently has a 40% chance to become a depression in the next 7 days. Further east Tropical Storm Kirk is expected to gain strength, and an area further east of that has a 90% chance to become a depression in the next 7 days (50% in 48 hours).
