Woman identified after deadly mobile home fire in Byron

Authorities have identified the woman killed in Wednesday’s Byron mobile home fire. An autopsy is pending as the investigation continues.

BYRON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A woman who died in a Wednesday night mobile home fire in Byron has been identified as 65-year-old Nancy Ann Cobb, according to Houston County Coroner James Williams.

The 911 call came in around 7:15 p.m. for a fire at a single-wide trailer in the 100 block of Belfair Drive. Williams said the home had extensive damage from the fire.

The cause of Cobb’s death is pending an autopsy, which is scheduled for Friday morning at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab, according to Williams.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston County Fire Department are handling the investigation. No further information is available at this time.
