GBI: Butler man charged with five counts of child molestation

The GBI says a Butler man is facing five counts of child molestation following two separate investigations in Taylor County.

BUTLER, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Butler man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of child molestation following two separate investigations, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The GBI said in a news release Wednesday 66-year-old William Robert Busbee is charged with five counts of child molestation.

Agents say the first investigation began October 30, 2024, after the Butler Police Department requested assistance in a case involving Busbee in Taylor County.

According to the release, a second investigation was opened March 3, 2026, after Butler police submitted another request involving a separate case.

Following both investigations, Busbee was arrested and booked into the Taylor County Jail, according to the GBI.

The case will be turned over to the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office once the investigation is complete.
