Burglary suspect may be hoarding animals in her home

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Authorities arrested Debbye Scott for 2nd degree burglary on July 27, 2014.

Scott was a former employee with Purrs N Paws Shelter. Amy Brennaman said Scott stole a key from the shelter and was using that key to come into the shelter on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Brannaman said that Scott is hoarding at least 20 cats and a few dogs in a home without any electricity or water. Investigators said the home is located around Dewey and Schley Streets.

Scott won’t allow anyone into the home to check on the animals. Brannaman is worried the animals will starve to death or die from the heat if something is not done soon.

She’s offering a cash reward to anyone who can help with the rescue of these animals.
