Bronson Addresses Constituents’ Concerns about Commission Candidacy

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A candidate for Macon-Bibb commission wants to make it clear that other obligations won’t stop him from serving effectively.

Candidate Paul Bronson, who is running against Henry Ficklin and Larry Schlesinger for the District 2 seat,
says his active military status will not keep him from his duties as commissioner, if he’s elected.

Bronson is an officer in the Army Reserves out of Atlanta. He says his constituents were concerned about his availability if they elected him. Tuesday, he tried to reassure them.

“I want to let people know that I’m here to serve–that my obligation to the military does not effect me holding an elected office. There are policies put in place that will allow me to do so,” says Bronson.

Bronson says if his unit is called to serve overseas during his time as commissioner, he may be able to be held back if the military believes he’s not needed for the mission.
