MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The cold front this evening will lead to more seasonal temperatures the next couple of days.

This Evening

The cold front will bring storms and showers to Middle Georgia as we roll through suppertime. Some of these storms could be a bit intense, but overall severe weather is not expected with this system. Winds will remain breezy tonight as they shift to the north in the cold front’s wake. Rain should clear out ahead of tonight, however cloud cover likely will not budge much. Low temperatures will range from the upper 30s into the mid 40s heading into Thursday morning.

Tomorrow

Expect an overcast day with highs likely to only climb into the upper 50s and lower 60s. While rain is not expected during the afternoon, some showers could begin to move in during the evening hours. Winds will largely come from the northeast at about 5-12 mph, gusting upwards of 20 mph in the afternoon.

Tomorrow night scattered showers will become more widespread, especially leading up to Friday. Expect low temperatures in the mid to upper 40s with winds from the east coming in at about 5-10 mph, gusting between 15-20 mph.

Friday and Beyond

Friday almost looks like a washout as off and on moderate to heavy rain will be possible for much of the afternoon and into the evening. It will be a cool day as well with highs ranging from the upper 40s into the mid 50s. This is not weather to spend outdoors in as it will likely lead to illness. This rain should taper off some during the evening and overnight.

Saturday will see a few isolated showers, however it will largely just be an overcast and mild (but muggy) afternoon. Sunday may see a few pockets of sunshine, but clouds will remain the dominant feature in the forecast through the foreseeable future.
