Braves Launch New Rookie Development Camp
ATLANTA – The Braves are opening a new rookie camp to show their top prospects where to go and what to do if they’re called up to the big leagues.
The week’s schedule for 26 minor league players began Tuesday with a workout at Turner Field and a speech from general manager Frank Wren.
The team plans trips to Georgia Tech, Hawks and Thrashers games, a visit to the Martin Luther King Center, and sessions with a media specialist and newly hired mental coach.
Wren says he hopes the players receive “a total acclimation” to the stadium, coaching staff and the city.
Infielder Tyler Pastornicky says he was speechless when he turned to see Hall of Famer Hank Aaron walk through the clubhouse.
Each player found his name on a locker and a Braves backpack filled with gifts.
