BOLO: Monroe County Jail inmate escapes
FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -UPDATE: Matthew Pippin, 39, is back in custody at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office after escaping at 11:55 AM on Thursday. Deputies found Pippin during a traffic stop on Craig Road in Forsyth.
Sgt. Lawson Bittick says Pippin wasn’t alone during his arrest, two other people were with him.
“There’s two other males that were taken into custody and pending an investigation to see if they meet the qualifications of hindering apprehension of a fugitive,” said Sgt. Bittick.
Pippin was originally in jail for violating probation on a non-violent drug offense. He will now be facing charges including escape could face up to five years in prison.
An inmate escaped from the Monroe County Jail in Forsyth.
Matthew Pippin was last seen near Ensign Road wearing a black and white jumpsuit. He was in custody for a violation of probation for a nonviolent drug offense.
