Boil water advisory issued for parts of Hawkinsville

HAWKINSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) —The City of Hawkinsville water distribution system experienced a water main break Tuesday, on Sandy Springs Circle.

The break caused low water pressure for some customers and loss of water for others, causing a precautionary boil water advisory to be put in place.

The area impacted for this advisory are as follows:

  • Johns Road
  • Pine Lane Drive
  • Thompson Drive
  • Tina Drive

All customers at any of the locations above, are advised to boil your water prior to consumption until further notice.

Residents that have experienced water outages and/or low water pressures are advised to boil all water prior to use for drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food.

The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil. Residents should continue to boil their water until they are notified otherwise.
