Body found in Milledgeville identified

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A body that was found inside of a car in Baldwin County has been identified.

Melvin May, 59, was found inside a vehicle on the 1100 block of South Jefferson Street Tuesday afternoon.

After an investigation by the Milledgeville Police Department, a Piggly Wiggly receipt located on May’s person helped investigators eventually locate surveillance video from the grocery store, which eventually led to May’s identification.

May’s family was then contacted and they were able to positively I.D. him.

There was no evidence of foul play found at the scene, nor any evidence of suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
