Man killed in West Macon shooting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  Bibb County deputies are investigating the death of 39-year-old Freddie Slocumb, Jr.

Deputies say he was found with a gunshot wound to the head inside an apartment on Pansy Avenue.

According to Deputy Coroner, Lonnie Miley, Slocumb was pronounced dead just after 12 PM Monday.

Initially authorities called it a “suspicious death” investigation, now the case is being investigated as a homicide.

Miley says the body was found when a relative went to check on Slocumb after not hearing from him.

No arrests have been made.
