Body found in DeKalb pond may belong to crash victim

ELLENWOOD, Ga. (AP) – Police in Georgia are working to identify a man who may have been the victim of a car crash and whose body was found in a pond.

DeKalb County Police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell tells local media that a car crashed last week in south DeKalb County near Ellenwood. She says two people are believed to have been in the car. One victim was found, but the other wasn’t.

Campbell says that someone walking by a pond not far from the crash site noticed a man’s body on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash and the man’s death remain under investigation. Further details haven’t been released.
