BOC Re-Name Highway “Brigadier General Robert L. Scott Jr., Memorial Highway”

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Board of Commissioners approved re-naming a portion of Highway 247, to the Brigadier General Robert L. Scott Jr., Memorial Highway.

The county BOC made the decision during a meeting, held Friday.

The newly named highway will start at Houston Avenue, and end at the Houston County line.

General Scott served in the United States Air Force, and, is the author of “God is My Co-Pilot.”
The book is about his exploits in World War II with the Flying Tigers and the United States Army Air Forces in China.
Later, it was made into a movie.
