Bobcat Catcher Named to Jewish All-America Team
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE)– Senior Cody Maas (Alpharetta, Ga.) of the Georgia College baseball team was selected to the Jewish Sports Review 2013 College Baseball All-America Team for the second-straight year, the Jewish Sports Review announced.
Maas earned a spot on the first team as catcher, chosen from all Jewish student-athletes over NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA ranks.
The senior led the Bobcats in home runs (9) and RBI (60) and posted a batting average of .322. Maas was third in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) with his RBI, and is the second Georgia College student-athlete to earn Jewish All-America, the first being Sean Harrell in 2010.
Bobcat baseball finished up the 2013 season going 36-19 with a 16-12 PBC mark, taking the PBC Tournament Title and making the school’s ninth NCAA Tournament appearance.
