Blumenthal tops 19-year-old GC shooting record
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GC ATHLETICS RELEASE) – Sophomore guard Ryan Blumenthal (Kennesaw, Ga.) made good on 90.5 percent of his free-throws this season, beating a 19-year-old Georgia College men’s basketball record.
Blumenthal hit 67 of his 74 attempts during the 2013-14 season, beating the old mark of 89.5 percent set by Mike Brown during the 1995-96 season.
Blumenthal finished second in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) for free-throw shooting this season, and 12th in all of Division II Men’s Basketball.
The Bobcats finished the season with a 10-16 mark, landing three on the PBC All-Academic Team, the most for a single season in program history.
