MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – For the past 12 years, Bloomfield Youth Baseball President Adonis Hollingshed has helped bring a lot of hardware back to Bibb County, but he’s also helped hundreds of young boys experience growth and success on the diamond.

“It really makes you feel proud,” Hollingshed said. “It makes me feel good as a leader. It’s all about loyalty. I do right by them, they do right by me.”

Many of the athletes at Bloomfield Youth Baseball in Macon have been a part of Hollingshed’s vision since 2014, and he’s watched them grow up along the way. Teams range from ages 3-14, with the 12U and 14U teams bringing home state championships this season, and earning automatic bids to the World Series in Baton Rouge, Louisiana later this month.

“We’re just a great team,” 12U player Leland Shelley said. “We play defense and offense really well, and I haven’t seen anyone in my eyes that can compare with us.”

Hollingshed and the teams will begin making their way to Louisiana next week.
