COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  The Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday it has received $30,000 in grant funding from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to fund mobile data terminals through September 2024.

“The loss of one life on our roads is one too many, and the fact almost all fatal traffic crashes can be prevented is one reason why we are awarding this grant,” Director of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Allen Poole said. “The funds will support the Sheriff’s Office’s efforts in developing educational messages, enforcement campaigns, and other safety initiatives.”

“As Sheriff, I campaigned on the promise that as law enforcement has advanced through technology, the Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office will be on the cutting edge,” Sheriff Daniel Cape said.
