Blackhawks beat Lightning 2-1 in Game 1
TAMPA BAY, Florida (41NBC/WMGT) – The Chicago Blackhawks scored two goals in the final seven minutes to erase a 1-0 deficit and win Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, 2-1.
Teuvo Teravainen’s 49-foot wrist shot off a Duncan Keith assist tied the game with 6:32 to play in regulation. Just over two minutes later, Antoine Vermette converted a 29-foot wrist shot off an assist by Teravainen to give the Blackhawks the lead for good.
Tampa Bay struck less than five minutes into the first period when Anton Stralman found Alex Killorn for a no-look tip in. The Lightning was held scoreless after that, despite outshooting Chicago 23-21.
The series remains in Tampa Bay for Game 2. The puck drops Saturday at 7:15 on NBC.
