Bibb Schools Superintendent Starts April 6

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County school board approved the contract for the new superintendent.  Dr. Curtis Jones attended tonight’s meeting.  He told board members he is excited to finish the school year strong, and is looking forward to working with the district to reduce suspension rates and keep students in school.

“I try to empower people and give them responsibility. We have a vision, but it’s a shared vision and if I can empower them to develop their own, it becomes a part of a team effort. It works, so my leadership is to empower you to help us become better,” explains Dr. Jones.

According to the contract, Dr. Jones will start on April 6.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Kelley Castlin-Gucutan will return to her previous position, Deputy Superintendent of Operations.
