The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is renewing its call for help finding the person responsible for a hit-and-run last year that resulted in the death of 24-year-old Jaxon Bilbrey.

UPDATE (1/28/25): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is renewing its call for help finding the person responsible for a hit-and-run on Emery Highway last year that resulted in the death of 24-year-old Jaxon Bilbrey.

In a news release on Monday, the sheriff’s office asked anyone with information to call (478) 751-7500 and ask to speak with fatality investigator or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.


ORIGINAL STORY (9/1/24):

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County deputies are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a man overnight.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, deputies responded to Emery Highway near Lexington Street around 2:30 a.m. Sunday after receiving reports about a person down.

Deputies arrived and found 24-year-old Jaxon Bilbrey. He was pronounced dead on the scene. His body was taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Crime Lab for an autopsy.
