Bibb deputies arrest two after finding 15 pounds of marijuana during traffic stop

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A deputy walked to the suspects’ car and smelled a marijuana odor coming from inside.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, drug investigators were called out to the scene. They found 15 pounds of marijuana, 100 Xanax pills, marijuana butter known as “DAB”, drug paraphernalia, and a semi-automatic handgun.

40-year-old Heather Hefner and 46-year-old Gilberto Acevedo-Perez were arrested. Hefner is charged with speeding, possession of marijuana, possession of schedule III drugs, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and other charges.

Acevedo-Perez is charged with marijuana possession, possession of schedule III drugs, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of schedule I drugs and trafficking illegal drugs.

Deputies also found $3,150 hidden under Hefner’s clothes.

Both Hefner and Acevedo-Perez were denied bond.
