Bibb deputies arrest suspect in Ta’Shuntis Roberts’ death
Hampton will be charged with murder and five counts of aggravated assault.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and Investigator Hogan from the U.S. Marshal’s Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task force arrested him without incident at the Waffle House at 840 Riverside Drive in Macon.
It was a drive-by shooting that happened at the Roberts’ house in Macon.
Sheriff’s deputies searched Williams home on Shearwater Driver Friday.
They found enough evidence to issue an arrest warrant, and it was signed by a judge.
Hampton is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office and be taken into custody.
Hampton is charged with murder in relation to the shooting homicide of Ta’Shuntis Roberts. He is also charged with aggravated assault.
The investigation has shown that Ta’Shuntis was an innocent victim and that her house was targeted in an act of retaliation for a previous shooting.
It is believed that Hampton was holding Ta’Shuntis’ brother and close friends responsible for a previous act of violence.
Hampton reported his house was shot at on Saturday, December 12.
“I’m glad the wall of silence was finally broken in this case–and that people finally started talking to investigators about what they knew,” said Sheriff David Davis. “I hope this imminent arrest brings some comfort to the Roberts family, so they may celebrate Ta’Shuntis’s much too short life.”
