Bibb deputies arrest burglary suspect

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb sheriff’s deputies caught a suspect minutes after they say he broke into a Macon home.

According to the sheriff’s office, 19-year-old Amthony Wood is charged with burglary.

Authorities say the incident happened at a home on Carling Avenue around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday. The homeowner told investigators she heard a noise that sounded like breaking glass. She grabbed a baseball bat, went to see what caused the noise, and found a man she did not know inside her home. Deputies say the suspect ran out of the house heading toward Montpelier Avenue.

Investigators searched the area. They had a possible identity of the suspect and a location. Wood was found at a home on Duncan Avenue.

Wood is booked in the Bibb County jail on a $8,450 bond.
