Bibb County Schools announces 2026 valedictorians and salutatorians

District leaders say the students earned top honors through academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County School District is recognizing its top academic performers, announcing valedictorians and salutatorians for the Class of 2026 across its high schools.

District leaders say the students earned the honors through academic achievement, leadership and community involvement. Click here for detailed bios from the district.

Central High School

– Valedictorian Oliver Jennings plans to study finance at the University of Georgia after participating in the International Baccalaureate program and extensive community service.
– Salutatorian Abigail Edwards will attend the University of Wyoming to study botany, following years of academic honors and environmental volunteer work.

Howard High School
– Valedictorian Jeremy Wang, a student leader in DECA and JROTC, has been admitted to Georgia Tech on a full scholarship to study business.
– Salutatorian Andrea Morman plans to attend Georgia Tech on a pre-med track after completing advanced coursework and earning healthcare certifications.

Northeast High School
– Valedictorian Kayla Lee will attend the University of Georgia to pursue a nursing degree after balancing academics with athletics and service.
– Salutatorian Zaris Odoms, a STAR student and class president, will attend Florida A&M University and major in nursing after graduating with both a diploma and associate degree.

Rutland High School
– Valedictorian Hannah Liles plans to attend Mercer University to study biochemistry on a pre-dental track after earning dual enrollment credits and competing in national science competitions.
– Salutatorian Savannah Neville, an AP Scholar and STAR student, will attend the University of Georgia to study pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences.

Southwest High School
– Valedictorian Destiny Curry, a Gates Scholar with a perfect GPA, will attend Spelman College and pursue a career in education.
– Salutatorian Loymiela Thomas plans to attend Georgia Tech while also serving in the National Guard, following strong academic performance and community leadership.

Westside High School
– Valedictorian Kyle Amansec will attend Middle Georgia State University to study accounting after excelling in dual enrollment and technology competitions.
– Salutatorian Joel’ James plans to attend the University of Georgia to study computer science after leadership roles in student organizations and technology programs.

VIP Academy
– Valedictorian Brandon Clark plans to attend Central Georgia Technical College before transferring to pursue a degree in human resources.
– Salutatorian Naomi Joy Daniels is already enrolled at Middle Georgia State University and plans to study business with a focus on entrepreneurship.
