Bibb County Superintendent Spreads Holiday Cheer Through Reading
MACON, Georgia(41NBC/WMGT)-Bibb County Schools is writing the book on how to get more students excited to read.
Superintendent of schools, Curtis Jones, spread some holiday cheer to pre-k students at Ingram/Pye Elementary School this morning.
Superintendent Jones took the day to read Chika Chika Boom Boom aloud to students and even gifted them each with a copy to take home over the break.
“Hopefully they’ll take it home and read it over the holidays…students lose a lot over break so this will be an opportunity for them to have a new book, with parents be able to engage, and just think about it,” said Jones.
But for Bibb County Schools, it’s all fun and games until it comes down to reading. The county is making its best efforts to promote reading and encouraging parents to sign their kids up for pre-school.
Registration opens up after the holiday break. To learn how to get your child registered log onto their website here.
