Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrests three in vehicle break-in investigation

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested three suspects Monday morning in connection with a string of vehicle break-ins at Falls at Spring Creek, located at 1900 Wesleyan Drive.

Deputies responded to the scene around 10 a.m. on Monday after reports of several vehicle doors left open. According to the sheriff’s office, items, including a firearm, were reported stolen. Investigators tracked a stolen item to a home on the 2000 block of Vineville Avenue. When they arrived, several people inside tried to run but were taken into custody.

After obtaining a search warrant, investigators recovered several items, including firearm magazines, ammunition, ski masks, gloves, body armor, licenses, debit cards, and automobile keys. They also retrieved the stolen firearm reported earlier. Some of the stolen items were returned to their rightful owners, while the rest were secured at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab.

The suspects, identified as 19-year-old Cedrick Arnett Johnson Jr., 22-year-old Jerry Patterson III, and 20-year-old Jesus Ozuna Perez, were taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters for further investigation before being taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center. All three were charged with felony entering an automobile with intent to commit theft and have since been released on bond.

The investigation remains active. Additional charges are pending.
