Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrests suspect in Rush Fitness burglary

48-year-old Russell Brent Harrison is charged with felony second-degree burglary after deputies say he fled the scene with stolen money.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested a suspect Wednesday in connection with the burglary of Rush Fitness, located at 310 Sixth Street.

A call came in to the Macon Bibb Emergency-911 Center just before 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, reporting an unknown male inside the business.

Deputies responded to the scene after witnesses reported seeing the suspect, via business surveillance, behind the cash register. By the time deputies arrived, the suspect had fled.

Following an investigation and a search of the surrounding area, investigators located the suspect, 48-year-old Russell Brent Harrison, a few blocks away on Sixth Street. Harrison was taken into custody, and the stolen money was recovered.

Harrison was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He’s charged with felony second degree burglary and is being held without bond.
