Bibb County residents come out in droves for day 1 of early voting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It’s the first day of early voting in the state of Georgia and the line to vote at the Bibb County Board of Elections Office was out the door early Monday afternoon.

Board of Elections Supervisor Jeneatta Grant says there were even people waiting outside the building an hour before they opened at 8:30 Monday morning to come in and cast their ballots.

With several critical positions up for grabs, they’re expecting high voter turn-out numbers to continue throughout the election.

“We’re processing hundreds by the day so it’s a big turn out physically with the voters in the office and with the ballots by mail–record turn out,” she told 41NBC.

The last day of early voting is November 2nd and it’s also the last chance to request an absentee ballot. Anyone who registers to vote before the deadline on October 9th can come in to cast their vote regardless of pending status at the Secretary of State’s Office.
