UPDATE: Bibb County Jail phone system restored

The sheriff’s office says the system is operational again after a temporary outage.

UPDATE (1/24/26): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the inmate phone system outage has been resolved.

“Normal call operations have resumed, and inmates have access to phone services in accordance with established facility policies and procedures,” a release said.

“The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the patience and understanding of inmates’ families and the community during this temporary service disruption,” the release added.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the inmate phone system at the Bibb County Jail is currently down.

According to the sheriff’s office, there is no estimated time for when service will be restored.

The sheriff’s office says it understands the importance of communication between inmates and their families and apologized for the inconvenience.
