Bibb County inmate taken to hospital after early morning jail fight

Deputies say one inmate was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a fight inside the Bibb County jail early Wednesday morning.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says an inmate was injured during a fight inside the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center early Wednesday morning.

Capt. Linda Howard tells 41NBC it happened just after 4 a.m. and involved multiple inmates. One inmate was taken by ambulance to a local medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition.

Capt. Howard said the fight remains under investigation.
