Bibb County deputy involved in gas station shooting
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A Bibb County deputy is on paid administrative leave while the Georgia Bureau of Investigation looks into a shooting involving the deputy.
Deputies say early Sunday morning, deputy Sgt. John Campbell was driving around doing business checks when he found a burglary in progress at the Quick Serve gas station on Mercer University Drive. Campbell asked for backup to search the business.
When he entered the business, he got into a fight with 46-year-old Marvin Causey of Macon. The altercation ended with Campbell shooting Causey.
Both men were sent to a local hospital where they are being treated for injuries.
