Bibb County deputies: Man arrested after firing shot during downtown fight

Deputies say the suspect was found with narcotics and had outstanding warrants

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Baldwin County man was arrested Tuesday night by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (S.R.T.) Unit after deputies say he fired a shot during a fight near a downtown parking garage at the corner of Cherry Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Mikel Justin Foster was taken into custody just after 10:30 after he refused to follow instructions and was tased, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say he had slurred speech and appeared to be intoxicated and was found in possession of individually wrapped narcotics, including crystal meth, powdered cocaine and crack cocaine.

Foster is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of schedule II narcotics, terroristic threats and acts, reckless conduct, discharging a firearm while under the influence, obstruction of law enforcement and public drunkenness. Deputies say he also had outstanding warrants in Baldwin County for similar charges, including discharging a firearm and obstruction of law enforcement.
