Best Buy makes recycling old tech easy

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Earth Day might be over, but you can still recycle your old electronics easily.

Best Buy has a recycling program for people looking to recycle any of their old electronics. You could even get store credit depending on what you trade in.

According to Best Buy, about 50 million tons of e-waste is thrown away every year. We spoke with Cameron Eddy, the product flow supervisor at the Best Buy store in Macon. He says the program helps the environment.

“That’s one thing we care about here at Best Buy is sustaining the environment,” Eddy said. “So we can get it taken care of and out of our land waste and put to good use so we can further recycle and help reuse all items.”

How you can take part in the recycling program

  • You can check Best Buy’s website to see what your trade in will get you in store credit.
  • Right now, Best Buy has a 15% coupon for used modems and routers that will go towards the purchase of a new router or modem.
