BCSO warns of celebratory gunfire on Independence Day

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to refrain from using celebratory gunfire on the 4th of July. 

The sheriff’s office says a bullet can travel up to 219 miles per hour before reaching the ground. 

The bullets can damage property, cause personal injury, even death. 

Bibb deputies will be out on patrol looking for individuals engaged in reckless conduct with firearms.
