BCSO deputies make an arrest in West Bibb burglaries
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Investigators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s office have put yet another suspect behind bars. This one they say was responsible for several burglaries in West Bibb.
The holidays–known mostly as a time for giving and receiving–were also a time of taking in Macon-Bibb.
“Investigator Moss with our Crimes Against Properties Investigations made an arrest on some burglaries that occurred between the time period of October and December,” said Lt. Randy Gonzalez with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The culprit behind those burglaries was 33 year-old Shawn Lineburger.
“Information was learned through the interview with Mr. Lineburger that he had participated in these burglaries that happened at these locations,” said Gonzalez.
Lineburger hit homes on Dixon Road, Bethel Church Road and Barnes Ferry Road snagging items like tools and yard equipment.
“Some of the property that was taken in these burglaries was recovered unfortunately some of the property hasn’t been recovered at this time.”
Lt. Gonzalez with the Bibb county Sheriff’s Office says though this burglar was caught, it’s still important to take precautions.
“Sometimes you may tend to see a little more of this during the holiday season with everybody out shopping and purchasing things.”
In the meantime, Gonzalez says the sheriff’s office is doing its part as well–ramping up patrol this time of year and asking anyone who sees something suspicious to say something.
Lineburger is currently behind bars awaiting his bond hearing. Lt. Gonzalez says they’re now working to get information in several other cases of burglaries that haven’t been solved.
