Barrow Kicks Off 2nd Annual “Made in Georgia”

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Georgia congressman is kicking off his 2nd annual tour that highlights the Peach State’s economic impact. 

On Monday, Congressman John Barrow began his week-long “Made in Georgia” tour, where he visited more than 10 manufacturing companies throughout South Georgia, and talked about their plans for expansion and job growth.

Barrow says federal government decisions are negatively effecting companies’ expansion, and he hopes by making rounds to different businesses, he can find a solution.

“The thing I want to do is understand the business as best as I can, because you never know what you’ll see and how it will impact folks back home,” Barrow says, “second thing I’m trying to do is create relationships with the folks here, so they know they can reach out to us so they can let us know what it is they’re doing in Washington [D.C.] that’s making it harder for them to do what they do best.”

The tour started in Laurens County, and tomorrow, will be in Coffee County. Barrow is also set to visit: Effingham, Toombs, Appling, Jeff Davis, Richmond and Burke Counties.
